About Us
Our Story
Bjorn Candles initially grew out of our candle obsession (shocking, we know). We constantly burned them in our home, so we decided to purchase a candle-making kit in the hopes we could start a new hobby. We quickly fell in love and wanted to share with the world all of the amazing scents we were creating (if we do say so ourselves) and do something we loved full-time. And so Bjorn Candles was born.
Our great, great-grandfather Trygve HeidenstrØm immigrated from Norway to the United States in 1904, and we have the actual trunk he used to cross the ocean and start a new life. We wanted to honor that connection to our history by naming our company with a Norwegian word or name. We landed on Bjorn, which means 'bear.'

Our Goals
Capture Memories
As most people know, scent can trigger a rush of memories often long-past or even seemingly forgotten. Our goal is to craft candles that capture the essence of our best memories -- a day on the beach with friends, evenings spent in your grandfather’s leather cigar chair, or the tree farm you visit every Christmas.
Minimalistic Design
Our goal is to produce candles with a minimalistic design so that they fit seamlessly into any home aesthetic and appeal to all genders. You choose your scent and your container color. No distracting stickers. No crazy designs.
Our Clean Commitment
Recycling reduces the need to grow, harvest, or extract new raw materials from the Earth; and using materials that are plastic-free & eco-friendly can reduce the harmful impact plastics have on us and our environment. Plastics can be found in a variety of products, from clothing to water bottles, and they are known to release harmful chemicals both when in use and when they are thrown away.
Because we are equally as passionate about caring for our environment as we are about candles, we are committed to reducing our carbon footprint by using eco-friendly, toxin-free materials that can be recycled, composted, and/or re-purposed in most areas.
